Woolly Worm Fest is an annual Festival in Banner Elk, North Carolina. A family carnival-style fun-filled event that celebrates the Woolly Worm caterpillar whose banding pattern is said to be able to predict the coming winter weather! Every year hundreds flock to the little town for food, rides, and attractions. But the main event is the Woolly Worm Race!
People collect, name, and race their own woolly worms to determine which worm will be used to forecast the winter weather!
And animated ode to the down-home feel of the Woolly Worm Fest!
